Another fun fact about Pleasantville is that almost 50 percent of Don Knotts lines in the said movie was just recited and read by an impersonator. Given that the actor was already old at that time and he had difficulty traveling from one place to another at a speed, the additional lines, which were needed by the production staff to be recorded by Don Knotts, were recorded by a great impersonator, Craig Shoemaker. Well, props to the impersonator as he really sounded exactly like Don Knotts.

Don Knotts passed away with the company of the man he was very close to. It was none other than Andy Griffith, the person who had always been there since the very start of his career. After his friend’s passing, Griffith was interviewed about how he stayed by Knotts’ side all the way. He narrated how he simply held his hand and told him how much he adored him as a person – both in the professional world and in real life even when there were no cameras present.
