Going back to Don Knotts and Andy Griffith’s friendship, the two had already been good friends ever since, even before the creation of The Andy Griffith Show. Don and Andy met for the first time in the streets of New York City. They both appeared in No Time for Sergeants, a well-known Broadway play. Since then, they had established a good relationship that really ended up being one of the strongest relationships a couple of friends or a group of friends could ever have.

Let us talk a little about Don Knotts’ best friend, Andy Griffith. Despite Andy’s proven professionalism whenever he would be on set or whenever he would be filming, he admitted that he had never been fond of being affectionate towards other people, especially the ladies, in front of cameras. Well, he never stated a reason for it but that was what he said during an interview. That was also confirmed by a lady co-star that worked with him – she shared her experience of sensing Griffith’s discomfort during a romantic scene.
