When The Andy Griffith Show began filming, Andy and Don had lots of time to bond with each other. That led them to be closer than ever and that also led Don Knotts to give his friend an iconic nickname. It was “Ange” – Don combined Andy’s first and last name. I don’t know about you, but I personally think that calling someone by a nickname is cute. Well, something even cuter is the fact that Don didn’t only use it during the filming, he also used it in real life.

A Special Assistance During The Set
The whole production staff of The Andy Griffith Show had to pull off extra efforts because of a sudden happening – Howard McNear suffered from a stroke in the middle of the show’s filming dates. Howard played the role of Floyd the Barber and everyone did their best to make him comfortable after his return to shoot his episodes. A lot of customized objects such as chairs and stands were made to assist the actor. Props to everyone who did a thoughtful gesture for Howard McNear.
