Eating In Shifts
The reporter began the interview by asking about Nadya’s mealtime routine, especially since her 14 siblings were present in the kitchen. Nadya explained that because there are so many children, they must all eat in shifts. While the other kids eat, some of them sleep on the couch or do other things. It appears that the family simply works in harmony in this way, which is very touching to see.

As the octuplets twisted their way around the kitchen, the reporter made a natural observation about how small they are for their age. Still, he couldn’t get over how polite the children are, how they cook, how vegan they are, how they read two books a month and do their homework without prompting. Thus, despite the fact that the octuplets have been embroiled in controversy since their birth and ‘in spite of all of the horror stories in the tabloids,’ the reporter had to ask, ‘are they model fourth-graders?’ How did she manage to do it?’
