Believe it or not but olive oil is actually one of the best things when it comes to soothing, red, sunburnt skin. Simply rub a decent amount of extra virgin olive oil on your sunburnt area and allow it to sit on the skin. After about 20 to 30 minutes your burnt skin will have easily absorbed the oil. This great trick also works super well if your skin has been affected by minor burns or insect bites. Take note, that you should definitely not put olive oil on your skin before going to sunbathe, you’re simply putting yourself in danger of being badly sunburnt.
