Animals who have albinism suffer a total loss of pigmentation, but leucistic ones only have a partial loss of it. This results in different colors and patterns in the fur, shell, and skin. These animals also do not get pigment loss in the eyes, so they do not carry those red eyes that most people associate with albinism. Every species of animal has leucistic animals. On top of that, it is possible to affect one of the children but not the others. We feel lucky to be able to see something this special!
