Schipperke
Are you an active senior looking for a great companion? Then the Schipperke would be a fantastic pet for you!. They have a lifespan of around 15 years and are cheerful and playful. Some of their many loveable qualities are their inquisitive nature and confident streak. However, you do need to dedictae some time to training them as well. As they grow up to weigh around 12-18 lbs, they are acceptable dogs for an apartment as long as they have enough space to roam around.

As apposed to most of the other dogs on this list, the Chinese Crested needs no grooming. But, you should note that you do need to care for their exposed skin. They have a fair amount of energy but are more than happy to sit quietly with their owners.
