In 2015, Selleck was sued by the Calleguas Municipal Water District on the charge of illegally bringing water to his avocado farm. During a private investigation, it was found that he did use a tanker truck to transfer water from a fire hydrant. This happened about 12 times in just two years! They had already issued a cease order beforehand. However, Selleck reportedly chose to ignore this.

Settlement
To prove Selleck’s misconduct, Calleguas Municipal Water District hired a private investigator and paid them about $22,000. When a settlement agreement was reached, Selleck paid them $21, 000. Though they could certainly pay the investigative costs they’ve incurred, we don’t think if it was worth the effort at all.
