A Hot Day
Julia was cautiously optimistic as well. She began to feel everything was swimming after she cautiously introduced herself to her 6th and 7th-grade students… And that’s before the temperature outside begins to rise. Julia positioned herself strategically beneath the air conditioner, but she didn’t feel any cooler. Her skin was beginning to flush, and she realized, “Oh no… I’m sweating! The horror!”
It Was Getting Hotter
She tried to stay in class, embarrassed, by fanning herself with a book. But all she could think about was the summer sun, which had slowly risen above 90 degrees. As the hours ticked away, the day began to feel endless. While the students were ecstatic to meet the new art teachers, Julia was concerned that she would not make a good impression on them that day.
