As Rose began to inspect the painting, she quickly realized that it was a mosquito. She carefully tried to grip it between her forefinger and thumb, but what she didn’t see is that lightly grazed the painting with her knuckle. All of a sudden, her heart began to pound heavily. She swiftly yet cautiously put the glass back on top of the painting. She later said, “I took it out to the front yard and I opened it up to get the mosquito out so I could take it with me to college, and then it kind of scared me a little. I closed it back up immediately because it looked like it might be real.”
