Like so many others that arrived on that day, Rose had to wait quite a long time before anyone spoke to her. Finally, after a few hours, it was her time to speak to the appraiser about the painting that she had with her. Rose sat down after she placed the painting on the table next to her. Holding her breath, she eagerly waited for some feedback. She had butterflies in her stomach, and they started fluttering even more as soon as the appraiser sat down opposite her. What She Knew About It
Hilferty began asking Rose a few important questions about the painting. Unlike most of the people who attended the show, Rose knew who the artist was. She was actually able to share quite a bit of information, mostly from what her family had told her. She explained, “I know he was born in France and then he moved to northern Pennsylvania.”
