After Maria Bamford’s autobiographical comedy series ran for two seasons, Netflix decided that they won’t be renewing the show. Nevertheless, the creator of the show is still grateful for the opportunity and tweeted how, “we didn’t get much but what we got was great in every way.”

Girlboss was inspired by the book of the same name and follows the story of the founder of Nasty Gal, Sophia Amoruso. However, although the producers had high hopes for the show, it seems the viewership didn’t quite live up to their expectations. In 2017 Netflix decided not to renew it for the next season. Reed Hastings, the CEO of Netflix said in a statement to Vanity Fair how shows can be cancelled for numerous reasons, but it’s “mostly, it is how many people watch.”
