Her Vision
After the apparition, Bernadette later described it as a beautiful young woman enveloped in a brilliant light. The vision is also believed to have stretched its arms out towards Bernadette, possibly hinting to the Frenchwoman that she should come closer to her. It was also said that the apparition was carrying an ivory-colored rosary.

According to Franz Werfel’s book The Song of Bernadette, Bernadette was initially terrified by the vision, which was released in 1941 and chronicles her experiences. However, some force pushed her to remain, and she found herself becoming curiously captivated by the apparition. Bernadette was then compelled to pull out her own rosary and begin praying for herself. And it is alleged that the apparition vanished when she came to a complete stop after around 15 minutes.
