Meghan and Kate made their first public appearance together in Christmas of 2017. Under the same conditions, the two women didn’t join the royal family. The two women came from entirely different societies, with one being from a privileged background, born from a family with royalties. While Meghan being born from a family in the United States, her mother was coming from a line of former slaves. The difference between the two is enormous.

Kate herself did not grow up as royalty, but her family had some sort of role in it. She is the eldest daughter of Michael Middleton. Her father’s family has ties to British aristocracy and benefited financially from trust funds, which they established over 100 years ago. She has a younger sister, Pippa, and a younger brother, James. She studied art history in Scotland at the University of St Andrews, where she met William in 2001
